Our Story

​

In July of 2014, we made the move to Glennie from western Michigan to grow West Wind Kennels.  West Wind Kennels originated in 1995 in Coopersville as a gundog training facility where we developed pointers, flushers and retrievers for hunters needs.  Through these years we also taught obedience classes, boarded dogs, and competed in field events and AKC dog shows.

Valerie has had an interest in dogs since she was a young girl and has worked to pursue this passion through her life.  Her vast experience with many different dogs has given her a special hand to be able to care for dogs of all personalities.

Mike has retired and is now joined to help at the kennel.  Helping with the care of the dogs and general maintenance at the kennel.

While being in the dog training and care business for the last 20 plus years, our experience has led us to create a facility with the dogs' mental, emotional and physical comfort as a top priority.
